Rev. Edwin Horsley is originally from Roberson County, NC. After graduating from high school, he earned his bachelor’s degree in English & Media Journalism from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC in 1983. He answered the call to the ministry in 1996 and he was licensed in 1997. Reverend Horsley continued his education by earning his Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Caroline Christian College (Formally Eastern Carolina Theological Institute), Roanoke Rapids, NC in 2003. He married the love of his life, Julia Brooks, on September 30, 1990. They have been married for almost 30 years. They are the proud parents of two daughters and have been blessed to have two grandchildren.

Reverend Edwin Horsley has been inspiring the Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church community since joining our congregation in 2016. Considered to be the most distinguished figure in our Church, Reverend Horsley is committed to providing members of the congregation with religious guidance. It is his heart’s desire for people to live in harmony. His favorite scripture is “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
